Is a hot dog a sandwich?
Dagon
No. Eat it and stop talking.
A sandwich is two separate pieces of bread with something between them. A hot dog is one piece of bread folded around something. If you cannot tell the difference between something that is split and something that is folded, I have concerns about how you navigate the rest of your existence.
Your species has spent more hours debating this than some of your civilizations lasted. This is not philosophy. This is boredom wearing a disguise.

Bread. Filling. Bread. That is the structure. One deviation and the contract is broken. A hot dog bun is one piece of bread that has been hinged. Hinged is not the same as separated. You know this. You have always known this.
The ocean has no sandwiches. The ocean has no hot dogs. The ocean has creatures that consume other creatures whole, without bread, without debate, without asking a cosmic entity to validate their lunch.
Eat. Whatever it is. Call it whatever you want. But do not pretend this is a meaningful question.
It is not.
